Family Benches offers prevention services for families at risk of losing their children to foster care. To minimize or avoid family separation, parents need access to a full range of support, from educational to housing and professional services. Family Benches is there to provide peer-related support in every domain of action.
Kimberly Tyre launched Family Benches based on a traumatic experience when her children were taken away from her in 2014. With firsthand experience of the child welfare system, she is a passionate advocate for parents at risk of losing their children to foster care.
Family Benches aims to provide support and resources to families facing hardship, ensuring no one is penalized for seeking help.
Our services are available to families in need of respite care, crisis intervention, transportation assistance, and more. We strive to assist anyone facing challenges with accessible and inclusive support.
